Synopsis
When the Otis family—brash, modern Americans—move into the ancient, haunted Canterville Chase in England, they are warned of the ghost of Sir Simon, a 300-year-old spirit doomed to wander the halls. But instead of being frightened, the practical Otises are unimpressed by his ghostly antics. They respond with humor, logic, and even practical remedies for the ghost’s “problems.”
Humiliated and frustrated, Sir Simon begins to question his purpose until a surprising friendship with the Otises’ kind-hearted daughter, Virginia, gives him a chance at peace and redemption.
